Starting Over

I am a 38 year old divorced mother of a beautiful 10 yr. old daughter. I have an AVM (arterial venous malformation) in my cervical spine. I was diagnosed when I was 12 after an aneurysm ruptured. The AVM is inoperable, so over the years I've had several embolizations. More rtecently (2003 and again in 2006) I had Cyberknife radiation treatments to shrink and ultimately kill off the AVM. I have to have an angiogram in @ a year to see if it's completely gone. The disabilities that I have are a direct result of treatments re the AVM. I have extensive nerve damage. I am in an electric wheelchair most of the time, however I am able to stand to shower, etc. I can walk very little with assistance. I have very limited use of my right arm (no fine motor skills). My left arm is much stronger and better with the fine motor skills. The nerve damage that I have allows me to pretty much move everything, but has made the strength and sensation in my legs and right arm way off. I am looking for someone who will accept me for me without making me feel guilty about my shortcomings. Someone who HONESTLY WANTS to be helpful and considerate without acting like it's a chore. Someone who doesn't blame someone/something for the hand they've been dealt. We are who we are for a reason. I am an honest, trustworthy, fun person. I don't feel sorry for myself and embrace life and it's challenges. I am very independent and have a tremendous faith. My family is the most sacred and important thing in my life. I was married for 11 years to a man who couldn't deal with my disabilities and made me feel incredibly guilty - like I had a choice ?!?! The best thing that came out of that union is my daughter. My daughter is my inspiration. She gives me so much strength. I try to be a great role model for her. I'm glad I found this site and look forward to hearing from you.
