Romantic, fun and then some!

I joined this group because I'm disabled with fibromyalgia, back problems, and have had a knee replacement that could have gone better. I find myself being housebound a lot of the time, and I'd like to find a companion, who knows, perhaps even a wife, to share my life with. I'm currently 58 years old. I creak a little, but nothing some real TLC couldn't easily fix! I love humor, nature, good movies, and I love to read. I really try to keep my sense of humor about life, and I really feel that anything that we can laugh about, isn't anything really worth being frightened over. I love nature, and I plan on moving to New Mexico, where I lived in the 1980's, within the next 2 to 3 years. I don't do 'flat' well, and live in Iowa, and I think that that probably says it all. I'm kind of an intellectual, and I'm a bit of a geek, but not enough to be scary. My Dad was a Brit, and my ancestry interests me. Western England on one side, and Scottish on the other. I love Celtic Christian music, and I've studied Celtic Christianity pretty deeply, and I find the Aramaic/Syriac and Jewish Roots of Christianity completely fascinating. I'm an incurable romantic, "a hopeful romantic", as one movie says. I still think that there's someone for everyone. The word "soul mate" has been a bit overworked the last few years, but it's still a pretty good word (don't you think?). I'm a passionate person, and I deeply love the things that I care about. I can be intense, but it's a well rounded (pun intended) intensity. I very much love the Southwest part of the U.S., and especially New Mexico. It's the most powerful place that I've ever lived, or been to. It's turquoise skies and mountains are imprinted on my heart forever, a personal love affair yet to be completed, but it would certainly be more fun to have someone to share it with! I try to practice compassion, Jesus called it "Mercy", but in the Aramaic, it's translated "Compassion".
