Hippy Hippy Shook right out of place
"My friends and son love the enthusiasm I bring to most situations and my handicap parking. They love my ability to be spontaneous, live in the now. They get a kick over my quiet wry wit and frequent delighted laugh. They think I am well read, have a great curiosity so will try something once. They are amazed at my appetite for adventure and people and places. That I am partner in an organization that helps train families with children and persons with disabilities to have a certified Service Dog does not suprise them. My endurance astounds them. They never know when I will take off cross country by myself or others in my van with my animals to go to a cat show as I raise pedigree nationally winning cats or spend 8 hours fund raising for a cause.. Some even quote a rolling stone gathers no moss to me. But my son, grandchildren and exes love that I am no clinging vine leaving them to live their lives. I say, when we are all at the old folks complex, race you in my souped up jazzy cart to the buffet where i am going to eat and it will not be a salad and our dinner conversation will not be about Drs, illnesses, kids, but about where I have been, who I met, were they entertaining, and where I am planning to go. Unless YOU have wonderful experiences to share and then I can LISTEN! If Mae West is not your type, move on boys and ladies, I got stuff to do. Go tut,tut with some other old biddies. Otherwise Mae and I say, come chat some time to this lady now using a chair for mobility due to an unrepairable hip, who is quite happy single, like Mae, my role model. I think some men are great companions in life to go on adventures and hang around with now and then. And some Ladies...Thelma and Louise is us! Where is my convertible, wind in my Judi Dench hair...little old Lady from Pasadena time! But life is an adventure and my time is now too short to not go where I want to go when I want to go.
